A Festival Born from a Calling
Following what he describes as "a mighty nudge from God," Rob Ekno founded the Knoxville International Christian Film Festival (KICFF), bringing together more than three decades of experience in Hollywood, broadcasting, publishing, and Christian media.
A Screen Actors Guild member since 1995, Rob has served on the 30th Annual SAG Awards Motion Picture Nominating Committee, appeared in faith-driven films alongside actors including Dean Cain and Eddie McClintock, and dedicated his career to using media to inspire hope and transformation.
An award-winning screenwriter, author, broadcaster, television producer, and speaker, Rob has been recognized by organizations including the Christian Film Festival, the International Impact Book Awards, the Associated Press, and Thought-Leader.
His books, screenplays, and television work all share one purpose—to point people toward faith, redemption, and the life-changing power of God.

The Knoxville International Christian Film Festival was never intended to become just another film competition.
From the very beginning, its purpose has been to encourage Christian filmmakers, celebrate stories that honor Christ, and create meaningful relationships among those who use their God-given talents to impact lives through media.
Every film submitted represents more than a production—it represents a calling, a testimony, and an opportunity to share hope with audiences around the world.
Whether through powerful feature films, inspiring documentaries, heartfelt short films, music videos, student projects, or television programming, KICFF exists to recognize creative excellence while keeping Christ at the center of every story.
Our vision extends far beyond presenting awards. We strive to cultivate a welcoming community where filmmakers, writers, producers, actors, musicians, and audiences encourage one another, build lasting friendships, and work together to advance faith-based entertainment that reflects biblical values and points people toward Jesus Christ.

A Festival With International Reach
What began as one step of faith has grown into an international community of Christian filmmakers united by a shared desire—to create stories that honor God, inspire audiences, and make an eternal difference.
In less than two years, the Knoxville International Christian Film Festival has welcomed submissions from 27 U.S. states and 14 countries, bringing together filmmakers from diverse cultures and backgrounds who share a passion for faith-based storytelling.
Along the way, KICFF has presented three live awards showcases, formed meaningful partnerships with organizations including RiseUP Tennessee and Tennessee FilmCommUNITY, and expanded its outreach through the award-winning television series KICFF Presents, introducing inspiring Christian films and filmmakers to audiences across the United States and beyond.
